1. RULES
1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in the Racing
Rules of Sailing, including the ISSA procedural rules.
1.2 Each entered team is required to provide one (1) class legal CFJ
with current class registration stickers.
1.3 Each boat is required to display CF numbers and a current year
sticker. Boats without valid registration will not be allowed in the
rotation and the team supplying the boat will be ineligible to sail.
1.4 Each boat is required to use a sail issued by PCISA.
2. ELIGIBLITY AND ENTRY
2.1 The regatta is open to teams which are current members of PCISA.
2.2 Competitors must be accompanied by a designated adult chaperone,
who may be an advisor, coach or parent.
2.3 Each eligible team may enter one varsity team which shall consist
of two (2) skippers and two (2) crews and their alternates.
2.4 Junior Varsity teams are eligible for entry after being approved
by PCISA, and shall consist of two (2) skippers and two (2) crews, and
their alternates. Interested JV teams should contact Tim Hogan, (714)
434-4400 for approval.
2.5 Completed entry forms and $60 entry fee payable to NHYC must be
filed with Newport Harbor Yacht Club on or before December 9, 2003.
Late entries will not be accepted. The entry fee will include
breakfast and box lunches for both days for 4 people. Additional meal packages can be
purchased, see Instruction 9.

4. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
Sailing Instructions will be available at Check-in on Saturday,
December 13, 2004.
5. FORMAT
5.1 Each Fleet (Varsity and Jr. Varsity), will be divided into two
divisions, Gold and Silver. Fleet allocation will be done by PCISA.
5.2 All races will be sailed in a Round Robin format.
6. COURSE
6.1 The racing area will be in the turning basin in front of NHYC
6.2 The course may be any variation of a triangular or other course.
Course diagrams will be provided in the Sailing Instructions.
7. SCORING
7.1 The number of races will be based on the number of entrants.
7.2 A minimum of three races for each division will constitute a
series
7.2 The Low-Point Scoring system of Appendix A will apply, except that
each boat’s score will be the sum of her scores for all races.
8. COACHING/SPECATOR BOATS
8.1 Coach boats will not be provided.
8.2 Coach boats will stay off the course at all times, and shall have
no contact with any competitor who is racing except when rendering
assistance under RRS 1.1, or as directed by the Race Committee.
8.3 Spectator boats will not be provided.
8.4 Spectator boats will stay off the course at all times, and shall
have no contact with any competitor except when rendering assistance
under RRS 1.1, or as directed by the Race Committee.
8.5 The penalty for failing to comply with these requirements will be
dealt with in accordance to the ISSA Procedural Rules.
9. FOOD
A weekend food package is included in the entry fee (Continental
breakfast and box lunches) for four (4)
competitors. The food package will be available to alternates, coaches
and spectators for $15.00 per person. Weekend food packages must be
reserved by December 9, 2003. Please submit payment with the entry
fee.
10. TROPHIES
Trophies will be awarded to skipper and crew placing 1st – 5th in each
division, as soon as possible after the last race.
