NOTICE OF RACE

3. Rules. The regatta will be governed by the 1997-2000 Racing Rules of Sailing (including appendices governing team racing), the prescriptions of US Sailing, the ISSA Procedural Rules (as modified by PCISA), the rules of the CFJ class and PCISA regarding CFJs (except as any of these are altered by the Sailing Instructions or the ISSA Procedural Rules); and by the Sailing Instructions. CFJ class rules requiring class membership shall not apply.

4. Venue. The venue will be San Francisco Bay, with access at Richmond Yacht Club, 351 Brickyard Cove Road, Point Richmond, CA 94807, Telephone: 510-237-2821.

5. Entry: ENTRY FORM MUST BE RECEIVED AT THE SAN FRANCISCO YACHT CLUB ON OR BEFORE APRIL 23, 2001. Send to SFYC - Baker Elims, Attn: Quentin Pollock, P.O. Box 379, Belvedere, CA 94920 or fax to 415-435-4794. 

6. Fees: Entry fee is $35.00/team, made payable to The San Francisco Yacht Club. Lunches, meals and T-Shirts (optional) are available for reasonable rates. See Entry Form for details. Valid, fully completed entry forms must be received by Friday April 23, 2001. Entries received thereafter will not be honored. 

7. Format & Eligibility. One team (consisting of skippers and crew for three boats) may enter from each PCISA member school. Wind and weather conditions will determine the ultimate format employed by the Race Committee (e.g., one or more full round robins, one round robin with a "finals", etc.). The Race Committee will attempt to complete at least one full round robin, which may result in a long day on Sunday. Please make travel plans accordingly. 

8. Boats. Boats will be provided by The San Francisco Yacht Club. Sails will be provided by PCISA. If damage is done to any of the boats or sails, the team or teams that cause the damage will be required to pay for repairs to or replacement of the damaged materials. If it is not possible to ascertain which team caused the damage, each team will be required to pay its pro-rata share of costs to make repairs or replace damaged material. 

9. Medical Release/Consent Form: Form must be completed and submitted to SFYC for each competitor prior to competing

11. Housing. SFYC can not guarantee housing for all participants. However, we will attempt to house all teams that apply. ONE representative from each team should contact Sita Sherman at 415-435-6405 (voice), 415-789-0414 (fax) or by e-mail at camp126t@aol.com. Housing will be allocated according to the date we receive each team's completed entry form. 

12. Judging/Protests. Judges or observers may be on the water. They will act in accordance with ISSA Procedural Rules, Appendix 4. Judges may use the "yellow flag rule". Clarification will be provided in the SI's. Protests will be handled in accordance with ISSA Procedural Rule #16. Jury will hear all Protests on the water, or in a designated location determined by the Race Committee.

13. Decisions of the jury. Decisions of the jury will be final in accordance with RRS Rule 70.4

14. Sailing instructions. Sailing Instructions will be available at the Competitor's Meeting.

15. Coaching. ISSA Procedural Rule #8, "Coaching", shall apply, except when rendering assistance under RRS Rule 1.1, "Helping those in danger".

16. Awards. The teams placing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd will qualify to participate in the Baker Cup Championship regatta. 

17. Official Notices. No contestant shall use, either on or off the water, alcoholic beverages (beer, wine and distilled spirits), or any controlled substance (Marijuana, cocaine, etc), the possession of which is unlawful. Infringement of this regulation and/or other off water discipline expectations occurring during April 28-29, 2001 may be the basis for disciplinary action. Discipline problems and enforcement of this regulation will be handled promptly by a Discipline Hearing Board which will consist of three adult members appointed by the Regatta Chairman. The Discipline Hearing Board shall, at a time and method selected by it, meet to hear any discipline problem, and its decision to impose scoring penalties or other sanctions, as they alone deem appropriate, including summary removal from the entire regatta, shall be final without appeal permitted.
